I've spent 25 years walking with people through hard seasons.

First as a pastor, and now as a licensed marriage and family therapist. I bring both into every session.

How I got here

I've lived in California all my life: Los Angeles, South Lake Tahoe, and for the last 35 years, Redding. I met my wife in Redding, and we've been married 26 years. We have three children, all young adults.

I started my faith journey with Jesus

It happened in the church where I now serve as senior pastor, and it has been a wonderful journey with Him ever since.

25 years of ministry

I led within the Vineyard churches

I've led worship teams and college groups, tried to start a church in Santa Cruz, served as an associate pastor, and I'm now the senior pastor of Vineyard City Church.

2017

I began the path to becoming a therapist

Before I was licensed, I did therapy with people who have substance abuse issues, spent meaningful time with clients from different backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures, worldviews, socio-economic status, and faith backgrounds.

2025

I became a licensed therapist

Today I see clients online across California, alongside my work as a pastor.

My approach is a blend of Biblical knowledge and psychology.

Psychology is a wonderful tool. When we use what it has taught us about people, there are demonstrable results. As a follower of Jesus, I also believe our souls long to know and be known by Him.

Trauma and PTSD

Many of my clients have lived through traumatic experiences. I've had to wrestle with my own PTSD, which gives me empathy and insight into what it does to people, and how to navigate ways forward.

Meaning

I have a deep appreciation for Logotherapy, which holds that in order to move forward, people need meaning in their lives.

Family and past

How we grew up, the expectations our families placed on us, and the family systems we belonged to all affect us today. That's why I value psychodynamic psychology.

Questions of faith

Many of us wrestle with theological or Biblical perspectives. Digging into what we believe can help us find rest for our souls.

I believe therapy can help you become the person you hope to be.

If you're ready to move past the obstacles you wrestle with, I would welcome the chance to work together. The first call is free and lasts 15 minutes.
